Morrab Library Fishing Collection (164 Items)

The Morrab Library is an independent library established in 1818, housed in a Victorian mansion in the beautiful Morrab Gardens in Penzance, Cornwall. It holds over 55,000 books on floor-to-ceiling shelves as well as archives and a rich photographic collection.

The Morrab Library's Photographic Archive holds about 15,000 photographs relating to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with a strong focus on West Penwith, Penzance and Newlyn. Its topics document every aspect of life spanning 160 years including rare glimpses into the social lives of people in early-Victorian Penzance.

This collection of fishing photographs was digitised as part of the MemoryFish project.
