Description

Cornish Pilot Gigs, 'Newquay', 'Dove' and 'Treffry' taking part in a race at Newquay. All were built by the Peters family of St Mawes respectively in 1812, 1820 and 1838. All modern Cornish Pilot Gigs are based on the ‘Treffry’ and ‘Newquay’ was the oldest known Cornish Pilot Gig.
