Description

An Aveling & Porter steam engine from the Levant Mine at St Just at the scene of an accident in West End, Redruth on 14 October, 1905. The engine was towing two large wagons loaded with crude arsenic and one of the wagons slipped sideways on the wet road surface and swung the engine around in front of the West End Drapery Stores where it became stuck between two pillars.
