The Llandaff was the first steamer to run aground at Bude, in 1899 (she ran aground previously at Lands End in 1889). Owned in Cardiff, she carried coal from Wales. She was towed clear by the salvage steamer Greencastle (seen here), which was built as a steam trawler.
