The ladies race during the World Pilot Gig Championships held on the Isles of Scilly. Among those pictured St Mary’s (IOS) Cornish Pilot Gig Club’s ‘Nornour’ built in 1971 also by Gerald Pearn of St Mary’s (IOS);Roseland Club's 'Rhos' built in 1989 by Ralph Bird of Devoran bought by London Cornish in 2017; St Mary’s (IOS) Club’s ‘Serica’ built in 1967 by Tom Chudleigh of St Mary’s; Mevagissey Club's ‘Endeavour’ built in 1988 by Dudley and Foard and Roseland Club’s ‘William Peters’ built in 1987 by Ralph Bird of Devoran and named after the renowned Cornish Pilot Gig builder William Peters of St Mawes.
