Description

The Battleship HMS Warspite served with distinction during the World War. On 23rd April 1947 whilst on passage to the breaker���s yard, the tow parted and ship ran aground in Prussia Cove, 6 miles east of Penzance. She was refloated in 1947 and beached at Marazion with the use of Holman compressors. Holman Brothers Ltd of Camborne was a mining equipment manufacturer. The Warspite was not completely broken up until 1956.
