Seen berthed at the outer harbour of Portreath, the ketch Agnes was the last sail vessel built at Bude. She was eventually wrecked at Summerleaze on the approaches to Bude, in 1904. Beside the docks at Portreath are piles of coal, and a crane for moving the outer harbour baulks.

Servicemen of the 2nd Battalion US Rangers were trained for D-Day on Upton Cliffs near Bude in 1943-44. To mark the 40th anniversary of D-Day, the US veterans were invited back to Bude to attend a reunion with the townsfolk they were billeted with when they were training. In the second part, we hear about the official commemorations, Ranger Bob Fruhling and the Rangers in Normandy with President Reagan.
