Description
Servicemen of the 2nd Battalion US Rangers were trained for D-Day on Upton Cliffs near Bude in 1943-44. To mark the 40th anniversary of D-Day, the US veterans were invited back to Bude to attend a reunion with the townsfolk they were billeted with when they were training. In the eighth and final part, we hear from Mr & Mrs Frank Cloke, who hosted Ralph Goranson; Mrs Sandeman of Summerleaze Crescent, who hosted Len Lomell. We hear Pat Haines', reminiscences and also discover how the GI Bill improved the job prospects of US veterans.
