Murdoch House in Cross Street, Redruth after a fire. This was lived in by the 18th Century inventor, Richard Murdoch, who invented domestic gas lighting and a steam locomotive, the Murdoch Flyer. Murdoch House was the first house in the world to be lit by gas.
