Description
A fire in the old Post Office in Alma Place, Redruth, on 9 October 1982. The fire started in Dowty's Carpet shop in the Market Place behind this and destroyed several buildings. After lying derelict for several years, restoration work was done to house the Cornwall Centre and several small shops were created in the former Meat Market.
