Description
The weekly exodus of miners heading for the mines in South Africa leaving Redruth Station. On the left foreground is the old signal box, and behind the old railway sidings. The large building on the right is Jarvis's china shop. Miners left for the mining fields of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America and North America and there was a saying "at the bottom of any hole in the world you will find a Cornishman".
