Description
Sir Richard Tangye who was born in Illogan in 1833. With his brothers James and Joseph he started a hydraulic engineering business in Birmingham and Brunel used one of their lifting jacks to launch S S Great Eastern. He was also a benefactor of the Birmingham Museum and Birmingham School of Art. He died in 1906.
