Men’s race during the World Pilot Gig Championships held on the Isles of Scilly. The Cornish Pilot Gigs pictured are ‘Penarrow’ built in 2006 by Andrew Nancarrow of Bissoe, ‘St Elvan’ built in 2002 by Ralph Bird of Devoran, ‘Messack’ built in 2006 also by Andrew Nancarrow, ‘Irene’ built in 1999 by Mashfords of Torpoint, ‘Drake’ built in 2010 by Peter Williams of Bodinnick, ‘Irene Too’ built in 2004 by Jim & Dave Currah of Looe, ‘Killigerran’ built in 2000 another by Jim & Dave Currah, ‘Warrior’ built in 2008 also by Peter Williams, ‘Millers Daughter’ built in 2003 also by Jim & David Currah, ‘Spy’ in 2009 another by Peter Williams, named after a historic Newquay fish cellar, 'Tristan' built in 2009 also by Dave Currah, 'Pedn Billy' built in 2009 yet another by Dave Currah, ‘Alfie Jenkins’ built in 2010 by Peter Martin on St Mary’s Isles of Scilly, 'Tregarthens' built in 1999 another by the Jim & Dave Currah, ‘Troy’ built in 2010 by Maurice & Louis Hunkin of Fowey and 'Polvarth' built in 2007 also by the Dave Currah.
