Description

Members of Newquay Rowing Club with Cornish Pilot Gig ‘Golden Eagle’ built in 1870 by the Peters family of St Mawes which was in 1953 purchased by Newquay Rowing Club from Bryher and sold back to the Islands in 1964. Also in the picture is ‘Treffry’ built in 1838 by the Peters family of St Mawes on which all modern Cornish Pilot Gigs are based. In the front row are Frank Peters on left and D Forman. Behind from left are P Sidebotham, George Northey, D Craddock, D Hocking and T Gill.
