Description

David George interviews Jonathan Ball during the World Pilot Gig Championships. He was Choir Master of Bude Lifeboat Singers who were formed in the 1960s and whilst on a trip to the Islands when they were heard singing by members of Newquay Rowing Club, they were invited to sing at an event being organised at Newquay for races between Newquay and Scilly. He talks about ‘lifeboat singing’, going to Court McSherry in County Cork in Ireland and the types of songs sung.
