Cornish Pilot Gigs taking part in a men’s race during the World Pilot Gig Championships held on the Isles of Scilly. Among them are ‘Mystery’ built in 1991 by Peter Foard of Mevagissey, 'Falcon' built in 1998 by Andrew Nancarrow of Bissoe, 'Golden Gear' built in 1998 by Ralph Bird of Devoran, 'Ryder' built in 1992 and ‘Neptunus’ built in 1998 both by Jim & Dave Currah of Looe, ‘Czar’ built in 1879 by the Peters family of St Mawes and ‘Rose of Cadgwith’ built in 1994 by Ralph Bird of Devoran.
