Description
The air raid in the early hours of Tuesday 30th May 1944 was the last air raid in Cornwall in the war and possibly the last in Great Britain - there was an air raid the previous day on Torquay. Possibly the target was the oil storage tanks at the back of the town. (Ellis thought he remembered that the tanks were hit and oil was oozing down the slopes of the hill but he was not allowed into the area
