Description
Ted Gundry in conversation with Alf Jenkins, who describes how the T.W. Lawson went down in waters around the Isles of Scilly in 1907. Alf explains how she was bringing paraffin to the British Isles when she got into trouble. He describes how rowing lifeboats (Cornish Pilot Gigs) from the islands attempted to rescue the vessel and crew. T.W. Lawson was built for the coal trade in Quincy, Boston, Massachusets and was the largest sailing vessel ever built with seven masts.
