Description
Ted Gundry in conversation with Cornish bard, Martin Matthews of Helston Folk Museum who describes the discovery of kaolin on Tregoning Hill by William Cookworthy in 1746. William Cookworthy was a chemist from Plymouth who visited Mine Captain Nancarrow at Great Work Mine and saw clay being used to repair furnaces at the mine.
