Description
Ted Gundry chats with 100 year-old Minnie Daniel, about her memories working as a Bal Maiden at Tolgus Tin near Redruth before the First World War. Blind at the time of interview, Millie talks about her duties including breaking "spall stones" which were used for roads, and her clothing (an apron called a "towser"), "sparple boots" and rudimentary gloves made from rags.
