Description

Barry Mundy shares his memories of the Penrose Road school, where he was a pupil between 1959 and 1961. He recalls how, when he was 13 years old, he was transferred from Mullion School to Helston County Secondary School (formerly known as Helston Secondary Modern School). He describes how he decided to become a fisherman against the advice of his teacher, Mr Rogers. In the sixties and early seventies the Penrose Road school was known locally as the ‘Green School’ because of its uniform of dark green and grey.
