Description
The steam locomotive 'Miner' which operated on the Redruth-Chasewater mineral line. The engine came into service in November 1854 although the line opened in 1826 using horse-drawn conveyances. Originally the line ran from Wheal Buller to Narabo Quay near Devoran but was later extended to include Redruth and Point Quay. It was closed in September 1915 when 'Miner' took the last train to Devoran. (Chasewater was the original spelling).
