Description

One of the crossing gates on the Redruth-Chacewater mineral railway line. The line opened in 1826, originally using horse-drawn conveyances until two steam locomotives were obtained in 1854. The original line ran from Wheal Buller to Narabo Quay near Devoran but was later extended to include Redruth and Point Quay. It closed in 1915.
