Cornish Pilot Gigs ‘Newquay’ built in 1812, the oldest known Cornish Pilot Gig and ‘Treffry’ built in 1838 both by the Peters family of St Mawes racing in The Gannel at Newquay. All modern Cornish Pilot Gigs are based on the ‘Treffry’.
