Description

Cornish Pilot Gigs from Newquay Rowing Club taking part in the first race after the Club was reformed. All were built by the Peters family from St Mawes, ‘Newquay’ built in 1812, the oldest known Cornish Pilot Gig, 'Dove' built 1820 and ‘Treffry’ built in 1838 on which all modern Cornish Pilot Gigs are based.
