Description

The crew of Cornish Pilot Gig ‘Newquay’ built in 1812 by the Peters family of St Mawes, the oldest known Cornish Pilot Gig pictured in front of Newquay Rowing Club building. They won the ‘Silver Gig Trophy’, a model gig with a set of silver oars, which was given to the Newquay Rowing Club in 1922 by a local business man Mr T A Reed.
